Kristine HadeedDiscover the legacy of California's first IAF organizer
Join us for the IAF History Series as we explore the legacy of Fred Ross Sr., the groundbreaking organizer who shaped grassroots activism and mentored civil rights icons.
In 1947, Saul Alinsky tapped Ross to organize California’s Community Service Organizations (CSOs), where he pioneered the use of “house meetings” to identify local leaders and drive powerful community campaigns. His work helped launch the careers of Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, laying the foundation for the United Farm Workers movement.
