ABOUT THE TRAINING

The Industrial Areas Foundation is the world's oldest and largest community organizing network, specializing in civic leader development.

In this immersive IAF training experience, you'll learn:

  • Fundamentals of power in both a philosophical and real-life local context
  • Foundations of institutional organizing
  • How to conduct "house meetings" to build nonpartisan solidarity and capacity for action
  • And more!
If you're interested in advancing from protest to strategic power-building for lasting change, this training is for you.

BONUS: There will be a special afternoon session on October 10 for those interested in exploring organizing as a profession. Please email Associate Organizer Kristine Hadeed at kristinehadeed at gmail dot com to learn more.

"Education must be presented to our people so that they will find it meaningful. But educators must first educate themselves in the art of democratic teaching [...]

Fascism does not have a chance of establishing itself over a people who are active, interested, participating, co-operating, informed, democratically minded, and who above all have learned through their experiences to have confidence in themselves and their fellow men."

Saul Alinsky, Founder of the Industrial Areas Foundation
